About Us
Wondering what Lydd Youth Set is all about?
Wondering if your child would like to come along?
Let me tell you a bit about Lydd Youth Set and what you can expect...
Lydd Youth Set was previously a granary and opened its doors for the youth of Lydd in 1967. Since then, it's been a regular meeting place for the young people, often seeing generations of members attending club nights.
Lydd Youth Set now has a new committee, which certainly feels like big boots to fill, considering the huge efforts of the previous trustees and volunteers. But we're committed to making this work and we hope it will be a success.
So, we are all volunteers, we're not paid for any part of this role. We have a common interest in the youth of Lydd and wanting the best for them.
Club nights are Mondays 6-7:30pm (currently this is run alternately with schools years 1-3 on one week, and schools years 4-6 the next) :
Your children will be looked after by volunteers who are all DBS checked and have experience with looking after children.
✓ music can be enjoyed upstairs
✓ skate ramp (Schools years from 1-3 used without equipment. School years 4-6 used with scooters and helmets)
✓ air hockey
✓ table tennis (years 4-6 due to the size)
Downstairs:
✓ art and craft
✓ foosball table
✓ tuck shop (stocked with yummy treats. Confirmation of sweets will be released ASAP, we will be catering for allergies)
✓ Large outdoor space with various equipment (footballs, basketball, Scooters etc)
We would love for you to join us, there will be some familiar faces to our regulars and some new faces too.
Meet Our Volunteers
Our fantastic volunteers donate their time every week to run our club night sessions, without them it would not be possible to open our doors and we are extremely grateful for their time and energy.
